Being a person with my head in the sky, I am always looking for new perspectives of clouds….especially when it comes to storms. I received the perfect opportunity to do so the other day (6/26/13) when a strong line of thunderstorms came sweeping through Asheboro near my campus.
I drove around looking for a perspective and I found a tree that I have always liked. Then I set up and waited for the ominous shelf cloud to come closer. The perspective I chose was one where the storm is actually overhead, but with a 180 degree angle, the front shelf cloud and turbulence underneath can all be seen.
This was accomplished by taking 15 images and then stitching them together afterwards.
